Class for Menopause
Challenging and often not easy, these years offer women a new way to experience life fully. Going through this passage of life gracefully, mindfully and with special attention to nutrition and exercise will help to find new powers using creativity and wisdom while experiencing less of the symptoms usually accompanying this stage such as hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings and fatigue.
Pilates: As with diet, exercise is an important and effective way to combat disorders that commonly occur with increasing age. Using the wonderful Pilates technique we will practice weight-bearing exercises that can reduce a woman's risk of fractures and will help build or at least maintain bone density prevention of osteoporosis.
Breathing: By paying special attention to breathe work we reduce stress and fatigue, calm the nervous system promote body-mind awareness and strengthen the heart and lungs to condition the cardiovascular system.
Yoga, meditation and relaxation are more effective ways to approach menopause. While practicing the yoga asanas and meditation, we balance the hormonal system and reducing stress and tension. This will help regularize sleep patterns, alleviate both the incidence and intensity of hot flushes and night sweats and induce a feeling of well-being and an ability to cope.
Many women see the menopause as the ideal time to refresh their priorities and outlook on life. We will use powerful techniques to put these intentions into practice and going through this surrounding time with a positive, empowered attitude.
