What is Hatha Yoga
Balanced
Dynamic and static movements are combined to create a balanced practice in our Hatha Yoga classes. All in rhythm with the breath. Precise instructions take both the beginner and more advanced student through the yoga poses safely and with ease.
Strong and static
Carefully instructed static poses build stamina and strength, help develop focus and a steady mind. Holding these poses for longer periods of time allow their deeper benefits to develop fully within you.
Flowing and focused
Dynamic movements help you to flow between poses with awareness, focus and grace, adding a vibrant dimension to the classes.
In tune with the breath
Your mind is constantly drawn in different directions. In yoga you practice drawing our attention inwards, to your never-changing core, away from the ever-changing surroundings. Focusing on your breath is one method you will learn to further this inward focus. Therefore all movements are done in the tempo of your breath.
Flavor of the week
In our Hatha Yoga classes you work around a theme that has both a physical and a mental/spiritual dimension. For example, if the theme is Balance, many poses will challenge your physical balance. Parallels will be drawn how you can find balance in life. Maybe you will be sent home with a yoga homework to ponder upon what puts you off balance in everyday life.
Relax and release
At the end of each class you will be guided through a well-deserved deep relaxation to help you rewind and recharge.
A typical Hatha Yoga class looks like this:
1) Centering around the theme
2) Guided Breathing
3) Warming up
4) Poses: standing, inversions, balancing, sitting and supine
5) Guided deep relaxation/meditation
